Bulwell uncommon 5
Earlier today I typed a rather long reply to someone's question about "Do you remember Tristram Shandy" a group from a club in Nottingham in the 70's. when I tried to submit my reply I got a message come up saying something about a mismatch and that I needed to log in again. It did seem to show though that my typed entry had been auto saved. Thing is I can't find it! any clues out there?
mick2me 3,033
Which thread was it in?
Michael Booth 7,364
Just a tip for anyone writing a lengthy post. It's always best to copy and paste your post in case something goes wrong, as above. If it does go wrong, paste your post to your 'E-mail' and save in 'Drafts'. You can then use it again whenever you wish.

Cliff Ton 10,435
Make of copy of what you wrote, but re-type it all. Maybe a gremlin in your original.
carni 10,094
Do you mean re-type it here or into Word and paste it back into the reply? Sorry CliffTon
Michael Booth 7,364
I'm sure he'd mean type it into 'Reply to this topic', carni.
carni 10,094
Well, I have just re-typed it all and clicked on post and it has happened again. It starts to save and then stops. I don't know why! could the post be too long? I have copied it into Word. HELP
Cliff Ton 10,435
Another one to try - close Nottstalgia on your computer, then open it again.

carni 10,094
I have just tried again on this thread but it will not post. I must be doing some thing wrong. It is quite long, but I have seen posts a lot longer?

mick2me 3,033
When I get time I will contact IPB support and ask them but I suspect a server peroblem. Open Wordpad or Notepad and paste long posts in case you lose them on any site.
Bulwell uncommon 5
It was in >general chat about Nottingham. I clicked, Reply to this topic, following a question from kevindolphin which started Hi this is a great site (It was back in 2008). The annoying thing is that it kept telling me it was auto saving... carni 10,094
Hi, I seem to be having a problem posting a reply again in First Impressions. It is a fairly long post, I thankfully copied it, but each time I paste it back and then click post, It just sticks and then I lose it. Any idea if I am doing some thing wrong or if anyone else is having trouble?
Michael Booth 7,364
If you mean the 'Saving Post' carni, I find there's not much you can do, just keep coming back to it. It's a good job you copied it, though.
