Its 60 years ago today that Roger Bannister broke the 4 minute mile barrier, and to me is a true legend,

I think the word "Legend" is bandied about to freely today,i hear people talked about as legends ,when they were mearly very good,Legends in sport were people like,Bannister,Owens,Ali,Marciano,Matthews,Moore,Pele,Best,Bradman,Sobers,Larwood, then there are local legends such as,Lawton,Pearce,Randal,Clough and Sirrell.

who do you class as a legend in sport,?

With Jimmy Sirrel as manager:-

1970/71 - championship of Division Four (now known as League 2)

1972/73 - runners-up in Division Three (now League 1) and promotion

1980/81 - runners-up in Division Two (now the Championship) and promotion to a level they'd last played at in 1926

Eddie the Eagle Edwards. represented GB in 1988 Olympics with no funding, he had poor eyesight and had to wear six pairs of socks to make his borrowed boots fit. I give him maximum points for effort.
