Hi, Thanks for the link but I've already checked out that site and although it mentions that Shipstones took over Carrington brewery it doesn't mention about the closure.

These are the buildings which now occupy the site; they certainly have a bit of a 50s look about them.

I'd not been aware of the Carrington Brewery before, but the location of the New Inn (which has survived many years) seems to indicate that it might have been the brewery's "home" pub.

I saw it on a map I bought from Waterstones yesterday (it was 1913 and not as I previously said). It's part of a series from alangodfreymaps covering Nottingham North (inc Mapperely and Carrington) - an old Ordanance Survey map and only £2.50 for each map (I ended up buying 8 of different areas of Nottingham!)
