Bowyer, Clough, Webb, Robertson, Birtles, Hodge

They all played for Forest but what else have they in common and who is the odd one out?

Further clues please......

Went out over the Tannoy on Saturday afternoon and 19,446 folks didn't know.

Cheers

Are you relating 'prodigal son' to Nigel, to make him odd man out?

Still can't see 'common link' - all rather ambiguous !

All 6 went in to coaching?

Cheers

Becasue they all returned.

They all came back to play for Forest again after being sold. The odd one out is Nighel Clough for one of 2 reasons: firstly he didn't return to play for Brian Clough who had retired, and secondly he didn't sign permanently for his second spell - he was only on loan.

Of course in recent times Jon Olav Hjelde, Alan Rogers and Des Walker have come back for a second spell.

I recognise the hair - our eldest son was a Cure fan and used to wear his hair like that when he was about 17.  He's not a Forest fan, though ....

I understand that Robert Smith was a big fan of Nigel Clough.

Our lad used to look more like Robert Smith than Robert Smith..... make-up and all.  He used to write and perform similar songs in a Cambridge band called Hollow Land in the mid eighties.  They once took part in the Cambridge Rock Festival but at this point were modelling themselves more on Fields of the Nephilim, even throwing flour over their hats and clothes to look as though they'd just walked in from the desert!  They had fun but didn't take it very seriously.  Of course he's now a 51 year old family man and definitely doesn't have Robert Smith's hair style any more!!

His music was very much like 'A Forest'.  He put a few videos on YouTube - you may find some if you Google hollowland8689
