Ayupmeducks 1,728 Posted May 25, 2014 Report Share Posted May 25, 2014 I recollect BR changing out the old tracks in the 70's with pre formed tracks/concrete ties, a train load of tracks on one rail and a special crane tracklayer on the other track lifting them, moving forward and laying them, as the tracklayers either welded or fishplated them, the track train was moved a length forward. Just a head of this crew were another crew ripping the old tracks out and leveling the route. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
