DJBrenton 738
I watched the new film last night and the producer did a great job of re-creating the 70's Northern scene. Elaine Constantine spent years on the project. She set up monthly club nights in London and Bolton so that she had a pool of teenagers who could dance to use as extras. Last night was the last Nottingham showing but if you really want to see it, there's a list of venues below. Friday and Saturday this week are the only showings in Derby otherwise you'll have to travel further. http://www.northernsoulthefilm.com/cinemas.html http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/film/11140553/Northern-Soul-Behind-the-scenes-of-the-film.html
Dave 48 847
Hi DJ Brenton, went to see this on the opening night in Nottingham at The Broadway with a pre- party at the The Fred Perry Store where there was discount on clothing. After the film showing there was a northern soul DJ playing in the bar which was packed and dancing too.It was sold out at all the showings in Nottingham Friday, Saturday and Sunday. As you say it was a brilliant film, with gritty performances by all the main actors/ actresses. I know one or two of the dancers that were drafted in as extras.
