The Pianoman 1,533
Recently a thread on Trinity Square Disaster with pictures of the Mechanics being demolished, reminded me I had this concert program from 1900 at Mechanics Hall. I found it in a full score of Tannhauser (not surprising when you see it) and is in remarkable condition. The conductor, Henry Wood, (not yet a Sir here) was the man responsible for starting the Proms Concerts at The Albert Hall London. I like the bit at the bottom of the back page saying 'the venue is opposite the NEW Victoria Station' There may be names on here that people new or are related to.

Cliff Ton 10,464
You must be older than you look if you went to that concert. And for anyone who missed the other thread, this is where it was happening.
annswabey 599
Really interesting - thanks for posting. None of my family were posh enough to be able to play an instrument, but they might have been OK with the triangle, if Miss M Cooper Sands hadn't got there first....
