DJBrenton 738
He's not actually going for quite a while. He might even do a Farage and 'bow to pressure' from the African and Asian representatives to stay.
mick2me 3,033
Will the Sheik take over, I quite liked the look of him?
DJBrenton 738
I wonder how many people might put themselves forward if Blatter isn't standing. Figo is a possibility.
annswabey 599
This is great news but why has he done it now?
Michael Booth 7,364
Is an arrest imminent?. It states that Blatter will still be there until next March so a lot can happen till then.
annswabey 599
Wondered about that, Michael. If so, he looks more of an idiot than he did already!
Dave 48 847
I think this is just the tip of the iceberg Ann and that there will be more revelations to come.
annswabey 599
I'm sure you're right, Dave, but why didn't he have the sense to think about that a week ago?!
Bubblewrap 3,815
I blame Rupert Murdoch & Sky & "big business" It's all the money that's gone into football that's caused the bad men to try and get a "piece of the action"
NewBasfordlad 3,599
^^^^^^^^^^ It's called pure arrogance, plain and simple.

Dave 48 847
I'm sure you're right, Dave, but why didn't he have the sense to think about that a week ago?! I think he thought he was untouchable and that now all his corrupt cronies have been found out they will be spilling the beans on his past.

Bubblewrap 3,815
News this morning Sepp Blatter is being "investigated" by the FBI. So that's why he is going Why cant FIFA have a interim president till they can elect a new one Blatter should go NOW !
mick2me 3,033
Did I just catch on the news FIFA having fingers in pies of Caribbean government elections, and Russian mafia involvement?
barclaycon 569
Blatter is a loathesome little man who thought that he 'owned' football. Greasing palms was the way to keep himself in charge - but it all went too far and now he's about to get his just desert. I had to laugh at the Northern Ireland game against Qatar last week where the thousands in the crowd waved £10 notes at the pitch and chanted about bribery.

Michael Booth 7,364
Rotten to the core, the lot of them. Platini is one of the favourites to take over from Blatter. What a joke.
