DJBrenton 738
Been doing it for ages but voice recognition is a long way from being good enough to replace keyboards for many uses.
DAVIDW 1,674
My son just downloaded Google Now onto my Samsung phone mainly so I could use the Google maps as a Satnav . Saying "OK Google take me to London" or whatever works as long as I say it when in wi-fi range .Seems to download entire route details on wifi and then uses GPS whilst phone is switched on during journey. However don't have a data plan, so if the phone is switched off mid journey lose the route and can't get it back . Voice commands seem to work for other uses I.e. sending an email to a contact . Have also just downloaded Google Translate . You download selected foreign language to your memory and then utter the words you want translating to be given instant translation without need of wi-fi .
LizzieM 9,497
Now that foreign language translation could come in very handy ....... I was thinking about being overseas on holiday, but may well prove useful in Nottingham too!
