He was very good at that 'laid-back' kind of style.

Not particularly my cup of tea, but oviously immensely popular and he did sell tons of records.

I recall his version of 'Elusive Butterfly' as being particularly good.

He was not my cup of tea either but having said that it was essential Saturday night viewing complete with Woolley jumpers and rocking chair.

I used to love watching the Val Doonican Show on Saturday nights, and was sad to hear of his death. RIP
