Compo 10,328
Went to the beach yesterday afternoon to enjoy the heatwave. Alas, I forgot that I was in Caithness. Good job holiday makers are resilient up here........ Yes, that is fog. If I begin to shrink over the next few days we will know why, won't we?!

TBI 2,351
A few summers back we were visiting the town of Seaford in East Sussex. Sat on the beach enjoying the sun and beautiful clear sky. Within the space of about five minutes, the whole beach and surrounding area was enveloped in a dense clammy freezing fog, just like those pics. Wierdest thing I've experienced in ages. DJBrenton 738
This spoof news has been doing the rounds Ginger-haired people have been told not to even think about going near a window, let alone stepping out of the house today. Temperatures are set to reach levels that could wipe out Madame Tussaud’s waxwork population, meaning that the more pale and freckly among us are at a particularly high risk. “Seriously, just ring in sick” said Dr. Malcolm Grant, a skincare specialist. “Tell them you’ve got whatever bug is going around, or if you’re a woman, say you’ve got woman’s problems. Nobody will dare question that one.” “I myself have been cursed with two ginger children, and I’m not letting them out of their rooms. If they even set foot outside then they’re liable to burst into flames.”
Pixie 162
Its been a scorcher! Everyone's been bad with hayfever but made most of weather so far, trips to the park & playing in garden. Unfortunately my biscuits are starting to melt in the barrel, meaning there's only one thing - to eat em all muahaha! Cracking storm last night too!
dgbrit 258
When I had my sailboat in Santa Cruz I wanted to go to Catalina Island got half way and the bloody fog came in so fast wife in a panic' Good job I had just installed a GPS radar thingimajig but the wind also was a zero so had to come back on the engine. That was it for the wife all she would do after that was go out but still keep land in sight.
Compo 10,328
To top up the fogs of the past week here's a picture I took yesterday when travelling north from Inverness to home. There is still plenty of snow lying up here due to the cold weather we have experienced this year. this is looking towards Glen Strathfarrar from the Cromarty Firth, just north of Inverness:
MargieH 7,600
Compo, what a great photograph! It looks sort-of ethereal - but it would in my eyes, as all I see round here are big flat fields.....
Robbie 39
I agree with MargieH it is a lovely photograph, very peaceful.
