DJBrenton 738
A whole new tram pub trail. The Clifton line not so much.
Bubblewrap 3,815
I don't think there is a pub on the route from Clifton until you reach The Vat & Fiddle. Unless you count The Wilford Green.
NewBasfordlad 3,599
Ferry Boat, Wilford......... does nice grub too, their steak and ale pie is both tasty and filling.
Bubblewrap 3,815
I promised my wife I would have no beer tomorrow as I have had "plenty" over the last few days. I may get away with one.............................But there again I never could count. P.S. I forgot about the Ferry Boat.
mick2me 3,033
I never yet used my Travel pass on the tram. What do you do? Get a ticket or just show it to anyone who asks to see your ticket?
catfan 14,793
Scan yer pass BEFORE you get on Mick or you'll be £50 out of pocket !
Cliff Ton 10,435
We've been here before. The first trams the first time round, in 1901.
radfordred 6,284
Not sure why the tram went to Clifton anyway? I'd knock them bridges down & give it to Leicester.
Bubblewrap 3,815
#11 The first trams in Nottingham were actually horse trams introduced in 1879.
The Pianoman 1,531
Interesting! First time I have seen an advert for Woolley and Co. although I have seen plenty of their pianos. (top picture). They were also on Talbot Street at some time or other. Does anyone know whether or not it is the same Woolley who built grandfather clocks at Codnor? Dave 48 847
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Woolley_(clockmaker) Doesn't look like it Malcolm according to Wikipedia .

Cliff Ton 10,435
Now the new line is open you can get two trams and a train at the railway station. Looking towards the tram stop at the station, a tram and the Pitcher & Piano (Unitarian Church).
Guest
What was Woolley's 1,2 or 3 year system I wonder?
radfordred 6,284
Shocking ............. Just been reported shoplifting is up 60% in the city centre since the opening of the tram line from Clifton.

The Pianoman 1,531
What was Woolley's 1,2 or 3 year system I wonder? Probably payment periods to buy your piano on the knock

Bubblewrap 3,815
#20 The tram extension has only been open a week how come the shop lifting figures have come out so quick. I suspect they are imagined or made up by the anti tram brigade. And why blame Clifton? what about the people from Beeston & Chilwell?
steve_barber@ntlworld.com 2
There's a report out today proposing a tram extension to Kimberley, and beyond. This could use the Great Northern but more significantly the Midland Railway tunnel at Watnall, near the secret bunker. The tunnel is full of pit waste but I have heard tha this has sunk a bit and it is possible to crawl through. Does anyone know what state the tunnel is in? Has anyone any pictures either recent or since closure of the tunnel inside or portals? The reason I ask is I am the person who ran the pro-tram group which got phase 2 of the tram to Beeston and am now helping those after the Kimberley route. The state of this tunnel is quite critical to the project.  Thanks Steve Barber  The Kimberley proposal and maps can be viewed at:http://www.broxtowe.gov.uk/CHttpHandler.ashx?id=32870&p=0
