banjo48 928
Good luck Catfan, but it's not a big thing, I had it done several years ago on my right arm and shoulder (I had a trapped nerve in my neck) rather have that done than go for a filling at the dentist ! My dental phobia resurfacing again.
carni 10,094
All the best for today catfan. Make sure you treat yourself to a couple of pints afterwards miduck. A couple of hours in the chair at the BDH yesterday, drilling and one thing and another. Apparently there are three channels in the tooth and they are so small it is causing problems. Very uncomfortable while the work was being done, but no pain though. I must say the people treating me are absolutely fantastic. Next appointment for anther attempt is on 12th May. So fingers crossed they can get passed the hurdle. Had raging toothache since the anesthetic wore off yesterday so feeling sorry for my self today.

nonnaB 4,895
I don't like dentists either and dont go unless I have to but when I go, I go to my brother in law who's a dentist. He is so gentle that you dont know hes drilling and scouring. Its rarely I have an anesthetic. He specialises in all aspects of dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. catfan 14,793
All the best for today catfan. Make sure you treat yourself to a couple of pints afterwards miduck. A couple ? That's only enough to wet my tongue !
catfan 14,793
Thank you all for your kind comments. Test took about 30 mins & a bit like having shocks from static electricity of varying belts, most not bad but the odd "belter" too ! Only time I got worried was when the nurse said right then Catfan, come & place your hands in the sink of water ? Now, I'm no electrical genius but I do know that water & electric don't mix too well. Don't worry she said we only want to warm your hands ! Finally the doctor confirmed damage to nerves but will have to wait for the final analysis of test to find out the extent. No surprise really.
Guest
Thinking about you Mick, last visit to the quacks.. She said I should have a balanced diet-" pint of Hobgoblin in each hand?" She didn't even smile...probably a Carling drinker!!
MargieH 7,600
Pleased you've got your test over and done with, Catfan. It doesn't sound very pleasant but presumably, you won't have to have another one done any time soon? I hope you'll hear that there is minimal damage to the nerves when the results are analysed

FLY2 10,108
PANIC STATIONS..... I've got an ailment ! One of those painful little ulcer thingies at the side of my tongue. I was just in the process of eating a biscuit when I bit the damn thing. Bloody painful. Any sympathy forthcoming?

carni 10,094
Aaaaaar Fly2 There There. Very difficult to put a bandage on your tongue, and a plaster wont stick! You will just have to be brave until it heals.
FLY2 10,108
Some on here may think the whole roll of bandage shoved in end first may do the trick. At least it'd stop me biting anything.
MargieH 7,600
I feel sorry for you, FLY - I've got one as well. Luckily, they do heal quickly, as long as you don't keep biting it. BE CAREFUL!!
carni 10,094
Early morning appointment tomorrow, New Cross for another three days wired for sound. Holter Heart Monitor time again. Fingers crossed. Scary, but I count my blessings, that we have got these options, more than our parents had. Oh Doctor I'm in trouble Well goodness gracious me. It usually makes them smile, when I sing that song, while they wire me up. Trouble is, it's usually a female nurse that does it. No Holby City Or Casuality Dr Valentines at New Cross.
