loppylugs 8,427
Late as usual on this one Lizzie. Hope they don't start calling me the 'Late' Loppy. Anyway here's hoping your recovery goes well. Best wishes.
DJ360 6,721
Gosh. Lots happening since I last looked in here. I sincerely hope everybody gets better soon. Thinking of you all. After all my recent heart scans etc.. I was told the results of the 'nuclear' scans were subject to delay but the cardiologist had 'pencilled me in' for next January. I've just received an appointment for next month. Not sure if that's a good or bad sign Maybe I've got my jumper on inside out.... Col

Gem 1,430
This is not my pain but my daughters, a childs pain is a mothers. Her leg was amputated above the knee last December 21st due to a long time knee problem, We were at the limb center today and they told her that as she didn't want a prosthetic fitted she was not entitled to any further help, nor is she entitled to a compression sock which is needed to shrink her limb. I made my feeling clear that it is her choice at this time not to have a prosthetic maybe at a later date, fine they said come back then and she will get help. NHS only there if you do what they want, how I kept opinions to myself I will never know.
Jill Sparrow 10,304
#1026 How terrible for both of you, Gem. Having to face such a drastic procedure is bad enough without that dismissive and uncaring attitude.
Gem 1,430
Thank you Jill, i needed to vent and felt family didnt need to listen. I will contact the NHS complain in strongest terms them tell them to stick their socks were the sun don't shine already ordered them.
MelissaJKelly 2,120
So sorry to hear of your daughters amputation and lack of care from so called professionals. Sending best wishes to you both.
Jill Sparrow 10,304
#1028 Don't blame you Gem. I had many run ins with medical staff when my parents were terminally ill. Sometimes, they need to be reminded that they're dealing with people and not lumps of wood!
