Me too.       Only worry after cost is that I have heart problems so probably wouldn't be able to have them anyway. Not sure what happens if you have implants and need an MRI at anytime afterwards?

Hmm.. MRI.. good point. I must look into it once I've saved my £20k....

I have just had a MRI scan on my shoulder. due to the metal replacement  everything came out as a black image, the consultant told me that they sometimes come out that way. So they then did an ultrasound scan to examine it.  As the wife said they were unable to find any work in me.

So. feeling pretty enthusiastic after getting past tooth abscesses etc., I agreed to go for a walk with next door neighbour.  We set off up Billinge Hill and over the other side via assorted footpaths ending up at a little place called Pimbo. There's a Garden Centre there where we had a quick coffee before heading back by a slightly different route, again across country and back home.  A total of about 8 miles and my 'Samsung Health App' was congratulating me on my biggest daily step total for a while.

Trouble is, from about halfway on the outward walk, my legs were beginning to give out.  Not just the worn out right knee, but both legs. .. .tired.. heavy and painful enough to stop walking being a pleasure.  Most of the walk home was 'purgatory', but there are no buses and I didn't want to resort to calling out Mrs Col. My neighbour was insisting that this wasn't right and strongly urging me to see a Doc about this.  Thing is.. less than ten years ago 20 miles in a day wasn't a problem.  Last mile or so was torture as I had to will my legs to move forward and by the time I got home I literally felt sick.  Woke up next morning with a very fast heartbeat and then struggled to get downstairs.  Just moving about today has been hard.  And I've booked a Doc's appointment.  Am still inclined to think I probably just overdid it, but disappoined that it has come to this.. and wondering if it might be more.. some sort of 'claudication' or other circulatory issue related to my ticker etc.  It's a real downer.  I used to love running, then I loved walking..  Not much of it left.

Col we know you're a born worrier but there are times when you should pay attention to what your body is telling you.

Heed your neighbour and don't bogger about, if whatever you're doing is hurting -  stop doing it!

Hope it's not serious and you soon feel better.

I fell over a couple of days ago and landed quite heavily. (I didn't 'have a fall'. I tripped over me shoe!) Anyway it's left me with a very painful back and I can't bend without excruciating pain (you see, I'm mardy). I asked the pharmacist's advice in the local chemist. I said, 'My back hurts when I bend, what do you recommend?' and she said, 'Don't bend.' (I kid you not!)

My other half, who uses a wheelchair, has one of those picky-uppy things, like a litter picker, so when the post came I fetched it to pick up the mail from the floor. As I positioned it by the letter I dropped the flippin thing. I stood staring at the mail and the picker upper and decided that I didn't want the stupid letter anyway. (You see I'm childish as well.)

We do have fun, don't we?

You have my sympathy, Eileen. I had a couple of falls...well, on one occasion I slipped because it had been raining and I was racing up the garden path...2 or 3 years ago. Both occurred in my garden where no one could see me but I felt a proper prawn anyway. Thankfully, no breakages so that must say something positive about my bone density, if not my brain density. On the second occasion, I landed on all fours and badly bruised my left knee. Still hurts at times but no longer swollen. Also a very swollen heel of my left hand. Could have been much worse.

Hope you're soon pain free again.

Sorry about your falls ladies.  We have a bank on one side of our yard where the dogs like to go.  Since this stroke  I am unsteady.  A couple of weeks ago the grass was wet and I ended up going down it on my butt.  Got me pants all muddy.  I swear those rotten dogs laughed.  Like you said, Jill you feel so stupid even though its not your fault and no human being saw it.

Went for a follow up at the docs yesterday.  He seemed reasonably happy with my bp.  Is in the process of setting me up with a physiotherapist for my hand and foot.  Gave me a ticket for a disabled sticker for my car so I can use the disability spaces.  Not a bad day.

That's ok if you can find a disabled space. I've taken a couple of elderly friends to hospital appointments recently. They have disabled badges but no car, so anyone who drives them can use a disabled space.  Rarer than rocking horse droppings, disabled spaces!

"  I swear those rotten dogs laughed. "

They do, I know. Mine are the same but only if they are together. They look at each other and their facial expression changes to, what can be only interpreted as, a laugh.

So true i slipped on the grass a few weeks ago all i hurt was my pride. The greyhound was dancing around me the bulldog sat with his head on one side sure he was trying not to laugh.

Sorry you slipped and glad you were not hurt Gem.  You paint a delightful picture, though.  It is hard to imagine a Bulldog laughing but I'm sure that do.  Having lived with dogs for some forty years I'm quite convinced that they understand far more than we give them credit for and have a great sense of humor.  They understand us better than we understand them.

I went to Ely this morning on our little single decker 'Zipper' - it's nearly as quick as going in the car.  I had an appointment at Specsavers (had my last eye test 7 months ago)  and a very cute young Spanish gentleman wearing a smart waistcoat looked deeply into my eyes... well, it was his job!

He said I have a small bleed in my left eye near the optic nerve, which MAY be caused by hypertension, cholesterol, diabetes or another systemic condition OR it may be glaucoma.  He spent about 10 minutes googling what it could be, while I was there... but I didn't mind as he was very handsome...

He said I AM losing quite a bit of my central vision, but as I could read the bottom line of tiny print, some part of my eye is working very well.  He seemed surprised by that.

Anyway, I have a letter for my GP asking if he could do a few tests and then refer me to the eye clinic at Addenbrookes to see what they say.

Last time this happened - over a year ago - the specialist at the hospital said there was no treatment needed, so let's hope it'll be the same this time.

Hope you don't have high BP, Margie.  Mine's lower now, but not at optimum.  Not sure at my age if it's even possible to get a consistent 120/80.  Now they're saying it should be lower than that.

Funny my low number is usually in the 70s  It's the systolic that is still a bit high at times.
