A nice shot of Long Row in 1949, from the Francis Frith collection mentioned by TrevorS a few weeks ago. http://nottstalgia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14910

Coming soon, to a bookstore near you. The Escapades of Benjamin. So big, it will have to come out in 3 editions!

Henry Farmer was a subsidiary of Pearson Brothers. They sold pianos and organs and other musicalia. The shop was directly accessed from Pearsons. My old firm, back in the 60's, were the auditors and accountants to the group.

Was the Farmer's that sold material any thing to do with Henry Farmer. Farmer's that i recall used to have a shop top of exchange walk?

Brilliant piece of improvisation there using the bin as a shield ! ben1945..:faint:

I was only three in 1965..used to use the lids aged about 7 reinacting Jason and the Argonauts!

Would I have been that quick witted however!

Do recall white card board pallets containing carrots left or stored in these alleys mid eighties..

Didn't know that was now a Ladbrokes, do recall the one further up..just a doorway entrance and downstairs. Opened around 1986.

Edit..The Ladbrokes further up was formally a cinema..guess where I learnt that! ;)
