Michael Booth 7,364
Terence, never apologize as your friends are always here to help and advise you. I'm sorry to learn that your wife needs a wheelchair and it's important that you get the car that's suitable for her. It may be a good idea to contact someone at the Social Services for advice. I think this would be my first option. You can also find a lot of info on the Internet as shown below. I wish you all the best, Terence. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=mobility+car&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=Gw6ZVoT0D8b8UtqYhpgO
DAVIDW 1,681
Won't be much mot history for a 3 to 4 year old car but enter a registration here and it will give you an idea of whats been wrong with a car in the past . Also gives an idea if the mileage is correct . Get a good'un and a Meriva would be fine . https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/?_ga=1.109460109.923515031.1437469164
mick2me 3,033
FiL has a VW, which is OK. But this type of specialised vehicle expensive if you buy from New! You could get a good second hand one much cheaper. When they were looking I saw a very good Mercedes cheap on ebay. There are still cheapies on ebay, but use the same caution you would, buying any SH vehicle http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Disabled-Vehicles-/36626/i.html?_sop=15&_from=R40&_nkw=disabled

PeverilPeril 3,279
Mrs PP drives an 8 y/o VW Touran. Like most small 7 seaters it is boring BUT it is brilliant in every other way. Spacious, economical and good to drive. A quality vehicle.

terence12 725
one thing about pushin em about, for once you are actually in charge, took her to Eagle centre derby on Thursday, bit worried about wheeling her around shopping centre, actually quite easy once i got the hang of going all the way through the checkout, turning round then pushing her back to pay, makes her feel she is in charge, waiting till April to get bigger car, cant do much with winter weather. be looking for Meriva, Zafira. BMax or some such.

Karlton 582
I had the mariva I found it a good car but the tax is quite high and appeared to me to have blind spots on the front quarter wndows i found that you had to lean forwards to look right and left the two front bars between the windscreen and the quarter windows hampered the view.
