FLY2 10,108
So sad. RIP Sir Terry. A great funny man.
Commo 1,292
R I P Sir Terry, one of the few broadcasters that I enjoyed listening to who took banter to a different level. We do seem to be losing many of the good guys at the moment.
banjo48 928
Another great entertainer gone. RIP Terry Wogan
.... 23
So sad to hear this news, loved Terry. Never stopped missing his breakfast show on Radio Two, it was fantastic. Rest in Peace.
OrphanAnnie 296
He was full of Irish charm, I loved listening to him on Radio 2. A loss to entertainment, RIP Sir Terry
TBI 2,351
Loved his laid-back style and banter. Always a very funny man. RIP Terry
Cliff Ton 10,457
His skill was that he didn't sound like he was a broadcaster, he was just talking to you as though you were a friend in the same room. No-one else could do it the way he did.
Rob.L 1,088
Used to love listening to his breakfast show on my daily commute. There were times when he did his Janet & John skit that I had to stop the car because I was crying with laughter. A genuinely funny man.
mary1947 2,079
So sorry to here about Terry Wogan he will be greatly missed. I and lots of others felt as though we knew him personally. As TOGs, Terry's Old Geyser. R.I.P
barclaycon 569
It looks as though 2016 is going to be one of those years when a lot of 'genuinely' famous people will be departing. Not the micro-celebrities and Z list reality stars that seem to have invaded our screens since the 70's, but well-loved, talented people who actually meant something in our lives. I wasn't a fan of Terry Wogan myself, but I'm sad to see him go. R.I.P. Terry
poohbear 1,360
I enjoyed listening to him...but lets face it all these famous people popping their clogs lately...they have seen and done more in a few months than most of us do in a lifetime...Rik Mayall,Richard Briers,Cilla Black,Bob Monkhouse........And it just shows you, wealth can't protect you from fate....although it can soften the blow considerably. Bubblewrap 3,815
Sad to see Terry's passing he was one of(very few) the BBC's stars that I really liked.
Michael Booth 7,364
I was saddened to read that Sir Terry Wogan had died. For me, he was the best presenter on the radio and TV. Your earlier posts have echoed my thoughts on Sir Terry and I'm sure that his wit and banter will be sadly missed. R.I.P. Sir Terry Wogan.
catfan 14,793
Never a fan of his but netherless a very sad loss to showbiz.
DJ360 6,721
The bloke never did me any harm and was clearly a talented performer. TBH. I found him a bit relentless at times, especially that interminable evening chat show he did. But then again all of those interminable evening chat shows get on my wick, including the current 'One Show' I'm sure he was a very decent chap. R.I.P. Col
BilboroughShirley 1,120
This is very sad news. He was an excellent presenter and the only good thing about the Eurovision Song Contest. His commentary was brilliant and so funny. Terry Wogan will be missed by millions.
parmitage 127
It is so sad to hear of the loss of Terry Wogan. As a TOG I loved his radio show in the morning particularly when he did the firework displays and his banter with the crew like Fran Godfrey and deadly. RIP
darkazana 1,736
I remember listening to him in the mornings, the broadcast coming from the kitchen as Dad was making morning tea and having his breakfast, then in later years on the car radio driving to work, looking round at other drivers to see if they are laughing too at Janet and John (we even bought one of the J&J CD's) RIP Togmeister. A true Leg End.
DaveN 1,118
The One Show on BBC 1 tonight (7pm) is an extended programme paying tribute to Terry.
.... 23
Often still have a smile at the Janet and John stories. Terry at his best.
mercurydancer 1,104
I tended to find Wogan a little smarmy on TV, and not a patch on Parkinson for TV interviews, however, on radio he was a master. He did not need a studio of sycophants laughing at every one of his jokes, it was far milder, and far more effective than that.
