barclaycon 569
By his own admission not his most challenging role, but he did manage to create an iconic character in Father Jack. Frank Kelly spent a lifetime in acting. I'm sure we'll still be watching him in years to come. R.I.P. Frank

.... 23
What a great shame. Absolutely loved Father Ted and his part in it.
OrphanAnnie 296
Shows what a good actor he was in that he was nothing like the character he's best known for! RIP, DRINK
mick2me 3,033
Personal Quote: It took me two hours to be made up as Father Jack. I found it repulsive. If I was in costume, nobody would sit beside me. And I don't blame them. I had vaseline coming out of my ears as discharge, incontinence marks on my trousers, prosthetic teeth which I took out to eat, and one blind eye with an opaque lens. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0446392/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t39

Michael Booth 7,364
I never saw it but it's always sad when a popular actor dies. Frank Kelly, R.I.P.

mercurydancer 1,104
Very sad. Father Jack was indeed iconic. I doubt if the Kelly family want Frank to be remembered as a comic actor who played a vile drink sodden priest, but Father Jack was funny. Cultural osmosis I call it. Now, whenever something goes wrong, I have been known to bellow "Arrse" very loudly, followed by the Mrs saying "Yes Father Jack."
