I once saw a film back in the late 1950's called Splendour in the Grass......

It shows the varied ages of the fans these days. When I attended The National Jazz & Blues festivals in the 60's, it was all teens and twenties. I could barely stand for two hours nowadays, never mind two days. Never even bothered with sleeping bags half the time.

Think Jimmy Somerville was at a Wollaton concert years ago when they used do a free one there. Remember seeing Adam rickett who did I breathe again( he used play Nick years ago in coronation street. Before current one.then had a go at singing ) .i remember all girls screaming when he lifted his t shirt up a bit . And used be a few others on same bill only doing one or two songs. I just remember it was free.

Remember attending one of these, don't think it was called splendour then.. about 1992, If I remember correctly Dr Feelgood were headlining. Definitely free, sponsored by Heineken.

Traditionally, Not a Special's fan, but did see them on Graham Norton....very good.
