street name - Mounteast Street

It disappeared under Victoria Station when that was built.  Mentioned quite a bit in this thread  https://nottstalgia.com/forums/topic/13082-charlotte-street-victoria-station/#comment-283074

BTW  we don't always answer queries in 3 minutes - you were just lucky this time

Mount East Street  ran from Parliament Street(Was Bunkers Hill till about 1895)  to Charlotte Street

Mount East Street would have been about where the bridge across parliament Street is now.

Charlotte Street ran from Milton street to Glasshouse Street (about where the clock tower is)

used to go round there a lot in the 60s.

and what about the train bridge over the river trent on the embankment can just remember trains going over it.

i used to get in the loco sheds on midland furlong road when i was about 7 years old.

sat there for hours watching them clean the fire boxs out.

61 years old and still mad about steam.

LOL my wife calls me a train nutter.

WOW thats 54 years a train nutter.

Welcome Gordon. Once steam is in the blood , that's it. You're never the same.

Ruddington disposal depot ! Some good stuff came through there. I knew a garage proprieter who specialised in buying ex army vehicles & were soon flogged after he resprayed & aquired new reg nos for them.

He made a decent living out of it.

I think Geo Dominic began with ex military vehicles, and they looked in superb nick.

I've seen more fairground stuff today, but sadly no Leylands, Fodens, Albions or Guy's I'm afraid.
