Cliff Ton 10,457
It disappeared under Victoria Station when that was built. Mentioned quite a bit in this thread https://nottstalgia.com/forums/topic/13082-charlotte-street-victoria-station/#comment-283074 BTW we don't always answer queries in 3 minutes - you were just lucky this time

Bubblewrap 3,815
Mount East Street ran from Parliament Street(Was Bunkers Hill till about 1895) to Charlotte Street Mount East Street would have been about where the bridge across parliament Street is now. Charlotte Street ran from Milton street to Glasshouse Street (about where the clock tower is)
Bubblewrap 3,815
P.S. there is a good record of the building of Victoria Station in Victorian Nottingham volume five By Richard Iliffe & Wilfred Baguley Copies available on line
Bubblewrap 3,815
This is Charlotte Street about 1895 to give you an idea what the area was like II don't think there are any pictures of Mount East Street
Bubblewrap 3,815
The wrought iron structure in the above picture is a urinal and would have been close to where the clock tower of the station would is now.

FLY2 10,108
Welcome Gordon. Once steam is in the blood , that's it. You're never the same.
catfan 14,793
Ruddington disposal depot ! Some good stuff came through there. I knew a garage proprieter who specialised in buying ex army vehicles & were soon flogged after he resprayed & aquired new reg nos for them. He made a decent living out of it. FLY2 10,108
I think Geo Dominic began with ex military vehicles, and they looked in superb nick.
