Compo 10,326
I spotted this Bristol open top bus in a farmyard yesterday. Does anyone know what model/year it might be, please?
radfordred 6,284
Found this - Another ex Southern Vectis open top Bristol LD, BAS 562, turned up at Bishops Lydeard on a connecting service for the Steam Fayre in August 2002.
The Pianoman 1,531
BAS is either not an original registration or the bus was not originally Southern Vectis. Isle of Wight registrations were all *DL
StephenFord 866
A picture on Flickr suggests that this bus had been re-registered, having previously been MDL 953 (Southern Vectis 507). Under the old system "AS" was Nairnshire, but the list on http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/registrations/dl.htm has no record of BAS being issued. The old two letter AS apparently sufficed for Nairnshire registrations from 1903 to 1964 !
The Pianoman 1,531
BAS is definitely a re-reg. I have seen them on classic cars that people have stolen original registrations from for profit! The original registration is now probably owned by Michael Dennis Leivers! Compo 10,326
REd, If the bus you saw was BAS 562 it would appear to be the same one as I photographed the other day - at the other end of the country.
