Hi my names Wayne

I was a member of Nottingham portland swimming club in the 70;

The reason I mention this, is because it's  sad to see beachdale baths where I ues to swim in competition, for my club being demolished.

Hi Wayne, yes I've attended many a gala there and the place was base for our Club (see my avatar) for many a year.

Good memories of walking from Hyson Green to Beechdale to swim there when it was first built in the very early 70's. I always thought it was a very ugly building though on the outside.

Eyup Wayne, welcome to the Nottstalgia site. I went to Beechdale pool a few times myself, more for the diving pit than the swimming pool.

Welcome Zomorrodatesh I remember your Dad Mr Brooks at Beachdale baths when we'd "Got Swimming" we all got on a big double decker from Glenbrook & in summer walked, Can you remember Pete who worked there? He swam the English channel.

No Petting No Bombing No Diving No Ball Games No swimming baths!

#8 I'll try to find an old photograph of our gang of Nottm cyclists on the Ferry for the IOM cycle week 1958.

Your dad is in the middle.
