Migin63 0
Hello, I went to the Elms Primary School on Cranmer Street in St. Ann's from 1968 to 1974. Is there anyone out there who went there too at that time? Thank you.
Cliff Ton 10,457
Welcome to Nottstalgia Migin63. You may have already found this site about St Ann's which includes a large number of photos from The Elms. http://stannswellroad.weebly.com/the-elms.html
Jill Sparrow 10,304
I am researching the staff of Berridge Road Schools and have discovered that, prior to becoming Head of Berridge Juniors in September 1961, Mr John William Baugh, often referred to as Jack, was deputy head at Elms Primary in St Ann's. There had been a bit of confusion as there was and still is a school known as The Elms which is the junior department of Trent College. However, I have now established that Mr Baugh taught at Elms Primary in St Ann's during the 1950s. I'm also told that the son of the Director of Education for Nottingham attended the school at this time. I have perused the website referred to above but there is no mention of Jack Baugh, nor does he appear on any of the photos. Did any of our members attend this school during the 50s and does anyone recall him?
philmayfield 6,115
Wasn't the director of education J. Edward Mason and wasn't he involved in some sordid escapade?
