The voices of cricket are slowly fading, Henry Blofeld, 'Blowers' is retiring from Test Match Special after 45 years.

Lazy summer days fishing on the Trent listening to the voices of cricket,  the late John Arlott's Somerset burr and Brian Johnstone's giggling fits and now 'Blowers' is retiring. Who is going to tell me that a seagull is fielding at square leg? A long and happy retirement "Dear old thing" TMS will not sound the same.

And who is going to count the number of red buses passing between the houses on the other side of the ground?

Things will never be quite the same again. We don't produce characters like him these days.
