Wooliesgirl 1
Hi Can anyone remember where Browns Subway was please? Thanks
Cliff Ton 10,458
Never heard of it. Was it a pedestrian subway under roads in the city centre ? And why was it called Brown's subway - presumably something nearby ?
katyjay 5,090
There is a reference to it on a graffiti website, showing the graffiti in Nottingham's well-known Brown's subway. But it doesn't say where it is.

Either top of Chapel bar under Parliament st. to the Coop Or under Maid Marion way to Mount st bus station

radfordred 6,284
About 15 years ago I swam the length of that subway in my overalls & toe cap boots for a bet the water was about a foot from the roof, there was some very clever graffiti under there.

Brown's isn't there now, it was demolished several years ago and a new building is in its place, but the location fits. A gloomy, long subway under the multi-level flyover. We'll have to wait for Wooliesgirl to come back and tell us if that's the one.
