Cliff Ton 10,464
A few days ago Broad Marsh bus station closed, to allow for redevelopment and demolition in the wider Broad Marsh area. It makes me feel old because I can remember that bus station being built - and the bus station before it. This is what an empty bus station looks like. http://i.imgur.com/jnSPpQH.jpg
DaveN 1,118
I remember catching a bus to Wilford (Barton's) at the previous open air bus station to go and see my grandmother
Jill Sparrow 10,305
#1 You and me both, CT. I remember cutting round by Dunn's to catch the bus to go and see friends in Clifton when I was a child!
Cliff Ton 10,464
And now the car park has closed as well. I can remember it all being built, so I must be getting old.
taxi ray 170
Demolition contractors, moved cabins onto site Monday, so hopefully they will get started soon. In above picture why block the entrance with expensive plywood, and then fence it off?
TBI 2,351
?? basic security...to make it a bit harder for undesirables to get in, a bit of plywood's not expensive surely?
NewBasfordlad 3,599
HSE wood to stop undesirables getting in, fence to protect said undesirables from hurting their dingies trying to pull the wood off.
philmayfield 6,126
Only Nottingham City Council could decide to demolish a major city car park in the run up to Christmas. Apparently finding a parking space is now a serious problem and people are missing appointments and trains. A spokesman for the City Council said “there is not a parking problem in Nottingham”. So that’s ok then.
plantfit 7,592
They don't like cars in the city do they? "Lets make it as difficult as possible then they might leave the car at home and jump on the shiny new tram they didn't think they wanted" Rog
philmayfield 6,126
Nottingham won’t see me this side of Christmas. At least I can drive to Downtown Grantham and park. Probably won’t even go there either though. Sod it!
Cliff Ton 10,464
Avoid the area around Canal Street and Collin Street for the rest of the year.
