It’s a 60 foot poplar which is very skinny towards the top. Much too dangerous to climb. The drone is right at the very top.

Chuck some fairy lights up there and you'll be in fashion with all the folks who are droning on about Christmas! smile2

Got Mother-in-law staying over Xmas and 'New Year..''   recently lost Father-in-law,,,,she's doing really well and enjoying Bulwell,, which she thinks is very nice and full of friendly folk,, which it is !

Took her for Breakfast in Wetherspoons' this morning,,which she enjoyed and couldn't believe all the 'Free Parking' and cheery ''Ey-ups''

Eureka !! That's the answer Phil. A sixty foot poplar, all you need to do is send some kid and tell him he must go right to the top and when the tree bends over you can just reach up and pluck the drone and arrow from the tree. Send up some kid you don't like and when you have your drone, let go of the tree and it will flick the the child over someone else's garden. Problem solved eh ! ?

Can't you train a couple of squirrels? On second thoughts they might get entwined in the fishing line.

Nothing more to relate Margie. It would cost more to retrieve it than it cost. Possibly the hire of a cherry picker but it would be a bit wobbly at that height. We'll just have to wait for the next windy day. Having seen a drone close up in action I would really like one. This one took fantastic video pictures over the Trent Valley. It's my birthday in a couple of weeks so it's a toss up between a drone or an electric bicycle - might have to treat myself.

So sorry for you Ben. We have cats and I know how much you can get attached to them.

Sorry you have lost your much loved cat benj. Before I married our home was always full of kittens  I adored them.  Since I married we have loved and lost three dogs and  each time it broke our hearts. I understand your heartache. So sorry for your sadness.

So sorry Ben.  I’m certainly not a cat lover but having lost several family dogs, rabbits, Guinea pigs and other assorted animals I know how much it hurts.  Thoughts are with you x

Yes, get a drone on your Birthday wish-list Phil.  Our son has one which he bought to take aerial shots of the work they do, it takes very impressive videos.  Just don’t fly it near those trees or too close to the river!

In fact a drone has been found and not claimed in Mapperley Park today, probably a good idea to put a tracker on them .......
