DJ360 6,730
Well I took my Civic for a jaunt from Billinge down to the A58.. along to the A 570 'Rainford By-Pass' as far as the M58, then back via the same route. 19.9 miles, so the best part of half a gallon of petrol wasted. Stil.. it was nice to see how the trees and hedgerows have 'filled out' since I last drove. I'll do similar with Mrs Col's old shed of a Punto tomorrow. Earlier this evening we took delivery of a Tesco online shop. I think we're probably OK for about six months now..... It took me over an hour to wipe everything with bleach solution and my hands are sore again. I've just taxed my car online. I'm not sure I can sustain these levels of excitement for much longer. Maybe when Mick started a nostalgia history site he'd forgot he would attract silver surfers & computer illiterates Facebook links don't work on here if the reader is not on Facebook, pictures you receive in a email or embedded on your own PC do not work as a link. pictures of your food, dogs, cats, plants, painted watering cans, rocks in a field up jockland are really only interesting to you, that is why Facebook was invented? DJ360 6,730
The Clematis is a seedling which just appeared in an old pot. It's clearly a 'Montana', but the flowers differ from the other more standard Montana I've had in the garden for yonks. That one has yet to flower.. so I'm waiting to get a shot of that for comparison. I contacted the Clematis Society or somesuch a few years back and a chap told me that no new seedling 'settles' immediately so flowers can vary for a couple of years until it does. I have a couple of large flowered Clematis which are also from self sown seedlings. I had their probable parents. C. 'W.E.Gladstone' and C. 'John Warren' for decades having brought them from our first house in 1976.. but they eventualy died. Looks like C. 'Carnaby' may be about to go the same way though it's only a few years old. C. 'Niobe' is still doing well as is another large flowered seedling which was the first I raised around 1996. I'm not keen on the current trend for breeding lots of Clematis with masses of tiny flowers. I'm all for the big old hybrids. The puppy is one my youngest is thinking of buying. They never learn... Beekay 5,143
Had to do a double take in that last line! Thought it said burying the puppy.
