I may not have been clear Nonna. I paid out close to £800 for two pairs. after 'discounts' and the 'Second Pair 1/2 price' offer. The first pair are 'Jaguar' frames. I've not worn them for a year or so because I much prefer the second pair I bought. with lighter and better made 'Stepper' frames. Anyway I put the Jaguars on today and a little bit of decorative trim fell off one arm....
Oztalgian 3,271
DJ 360 Didn't you know that Jaguars are notoriously unreliable and have quality problems. Might have been worse you could have bought Range Rover frames.
DJ360 6,721
I've spent part of today checking out online optical services. I found a promising one ( Spex4Less) who will re-glaze my specs for around £200.. including high index/thin lenses, coatings, varifocals etc. But so far it looks like they don't do them in 'transitions'.. which is a probable Deal Breaker for me. Both my current pairs are 'transitions', and I'm very comfortable with them. I could get 'prescription' sunglasses.. but they are expensive and mostly 'fixed' tint. The search resumes tomorrow. P.S. My prescription is higher than +6. I am VERY long sighted.. and standard lenses look like bottle bottoms on me.

Stuart.C 491
At least Col was far sighted in having a second pair of glasses. Hopefully they'll eventually be a spectacular outcome.
