How's your day?

It's reassuring to know that if I go to the USA, drive on the wrong side of the road, knock down and kill a U.S. citizen, I won't be prosecuted in court.   Like hell I won't!

Mrs Sacoolas, stop behaving like a craven idiot. Accept your responsibilities and face the music!

Oz, if your reading this (ya don't need glasses,) Any way I clicked on YouTube search and got the battle straight away. Just for interest, the Houghton Weavers did it and Tom Baker, who's a local lad.

Edit..King Harold stood on Senlac field and yelled, "Here! Watch what yer doing with that bow n arra', ya could have somebody's eye out" !

Thanks Beekay

Don't know why but sometimes it does not show the picture and other times it does.

Wonder if YT knows we have had a spat with Faceache and is getting back at us?

Can you not hire or buy a decent angle grinder or Stihl saw and cut them to a more manageable size?. If you lived closer you could borrow mine...

Evening Brew,

Not sure cutting flags down just to make them manageable is quite the answer... ...That's where gravel comes in...;)

That said, I went to B&Q the other day for a new lump hammer. ( Cheaper and easier than fitting a new shaft to my old one.)  Also a rubber mallet.  While there I spotted a 750W Bosch Angle Grinder for £40.  Couldn't pass it up at that price.  A Stihl it isn't.. but it should do for a couple of small cuts I need to make.  Got a pack of stone cutting discs at same time.  The AG should be handy for other tasks over time.

Today, I went out and adjusted the level on the last flag I laid.  I had intended to lay the final one too but thought. 'Sod this for a game of soldiers'.  When you feel like that it's best to stop.  My right knee has 'flared up' and the pain is deep inside it.  It woke me up a couple of times last night.

Decided to walk up to the pharmacy for this month's prescription and see if a walk would ease the knee.  It didn't.  And Mrs Col keeps telling me to stop doing 'too much'.  5 mins flag laying and a half mile round trip 'too much'.  Hmm...

But I was completely 'Cream Crackered' after and have dozed all evening since so maybe she's right.

Bed soon.

As I've noted before.  Sometimes YT will just not let you put a video 'inline' (i.e... so that it shows a pic rather than just a link.)  You can still see it but you have to follow the link to YT.

I've found that other times.. if you go to the end of the link in your post and press Return.. the link will magically change from a link to a pic.  Don't ask me how...

Thank you Jill.  I don’t try and keep my birthday quiet on here- I just don’t feel the need to broadcast it!  My date of birth is on my profile but I suppose that doesn’t get many visitors as most of you will know who. I am by now.  I’m just grateful I have lived this long... God must still have work for me to do

RR  Thank you for those kind words - I don't think I feel 78.... but what' s a 78 yr old SUPPOSED to feel like?  If anyone had asked me that question when I was a teenager, the answer certainly wouldn't describe who I am today.  Does that make sense?

We are all on a  journey.... and I reckon we should try to appreciate where we are each day.

@Brew  thank you for the compliment but next time we meet, you might change your mind about that.   With my rubbish eyesight I can't even see to do my make up!    Never mind.... as long a I don't FEEL too old :jumping:

Telling Margie she is 8 months older than me. Just realised, I'll be 78 this year. Bugger!

I've just made me day. Booked in for Thorseby Hall Notts. for Dec 10th. Hopefully, we should be alright before then.
