Hi Oz, just been Googling some H equipment, boy ! Are they expensive. I had to make do with a Russian Lubitel twin lens reflex (120 film). Decent camera though, I've still got it.

I know Mike is a keen photographer and am wondering if he is winding us up..

I used to lust after their beautiful Hasselblad 'medium format' cameras.. such as..

..when I was using a Zorki 4k Russian Leica copy.

For context.. Hasselblad make Leica look cheap and the rest just bargain basement tat...

Hasselblad have collaborated with both Sony and One Plus.

The 500c with all the accessories would cost about the same as a decent bungalow. I don't know if they still hold the crown since digital technology virtually killed film cameras but they were the stuff of dreams when I was into photography.

Indeed.. but the One Plus 9 Pro phone is about £900... you could buy a decent camera for that..;)

Whilst looking for a phone. I got the choice down to the Google Pixel 4a at around £350 and the Samsung A52 wot I bought... at a few quid more.

Even though the Samsung has a suite of four cameras..the Pixel ..which only has one... is generally better rated in the camera dept....  Eitherway it's not that relevant to me because I really struggle with using screens to compose shots.. especially outdoors in bright light.  That's why I bought my Lumix compact.. which has a very nice viewfinder as well as a screen.

It was other factors.. such as battery life in particular and assorted other specs which 'swung it' for me... though I imagine either would be a considerable improvement on my 5 year old A3.

It also depends how much and how often you use your phone. Mine is nearly 4 years old, and if it was a car it would be very low mileage.

Some people spend hours a day looking at the internet on their phone, constantly tweeting and messaging and calling. I sometimes never use it at all from one day to the next. I don't have to always know everything that's happening; and I don't always want to take a photo of it.

Meanwhile in other news....

I was all set to plant out Runner Beans raised from seed, plus some French Bean plants given by a neighbour. Was also planning to put the cold frame out of the way for the rest of the year and use the space to put the 'vine' tomatoes and the bush type cherry tomatoes against the warm back wall.  But.. weather forcast for strong winds and heavy rain changed all that... so they'll have to wait a bit longer.Meanwhile my Sweet Peas have been sitting planted out for three weeks and have not grown so much as a millimetre.

Here's hoping for some warmer weather eventually....:(

Lets, that looks a serious bit of kit you inherited. Not one to put in your pocket, but one for specialist photography. Had a look at the your link which was interesting. I possess a Pentax, but certainly not that one.

Think mine is only 6mp.

Din't mean them Brew, but when I scrolled down below your picture there were loads of Imgur images that all seemed American stuff. Maybe it's just on my tablet. Lovely picture by the way. Perhaps it's time I posted some more.

This is of course film as in chemical photography. Sadly it’s gone down in value as digital is king but it’s still collectible and useable if you wanted.

I would still like to use film. I've got quite a bit of 35mm in my freezer, but not sure where you can take them for d&p. There used to be loads of ads in the photography magazines, but it's been a while since I bought one. Used to like 'Practical Photography and 'What Camera Weekly'.
