Beekay 5,094
Morning Jill, wished I knew what that is. I can't even pronounce it. Still sat here under me kitchen window and who should fly by, just about 50 feet above me, but a bloody great buzzard ! Knew they were big but for a minute thought he were gonna carry me off. We often see him and his missus soaring above us, probably about about 3-4 hundred feet, so it felt like a privilege for him to visit. Made my day.
Jill Sparrow 10,267
It's a very high strength diuretic, Beekay. You could water the entire planet on that! Buzzards are becoming quite rare, so you are very privileged to see one.
Jill Sparrow 10,267
Today I went to sunny Bulwell!! An old school friend and I met one of our former primary school teachers in Tesco's coffee shop. It is more than thirty years since I saw him but I recognized him immediately. He did not recognize me...so the disguise must be working! He has lent me some photos of Berridge as it was during his time. They are very interesting and some will be posted in the Berridge thread. Too hot and not enough time to wander round Bulwell itself, so I'm saving that for a later date. Who knows, I might run into Ben! 1

DJ360 6,712
Have to say I was pretty disappointed with my 6 week follow up at Wrightington on Weds The chap I saw spotted immediately that I was struggling but flatly refused to acknowledge that the ITBand issue might actually exist. It was exactly what the helpline Ortho Specialist said and it fit all of my own research since. I was dumfounded. I mean, it's either right or not but he should be able to determine that. It was as if he'd not heard of it and didn't want to discuss it, despite what his colleague told me on the phone. Then sent me for x-ray, which was OK, then bloods which involved two nurses failing to get blood after messing about for ages. Have ended up having to book in for bloods somewhere in Wigan today. Took 2 minutes.. Meanwhile he advised icing etc. When I asked what happens if clicking continues after I get less sore and I go back to square one, he just refused to consider the possibility. All very odd. He wants to see me in two weeks but so far has not sent me promised appointment details. And so much time taken that I was unable to see my physio. When I told him I had appt. with her his words were. 'She'll have to wait. ' I'm still seething.
trogg 2,002
DJ I had my 6 week follow up on Wednesday , arrived 1330 hrs and I have to wait for xray before seeing consultant , Wait wait and wait till Consultant comes and finds me and takes me to his room and examines me and tells me to keep doing physio and he will look at my xray Thursday, total time 5 mins. Go and wait for xray again, had enjoyable time talking with several different people , great place to meet new people. Finally had xray , time taken about 7 mins, so at last to the car park to go home, checked ticket £6 time in car park 3hrs 47 mins. I could have found better things to do on a hot afternoon. Look on the bright side I did no house work that afternoon. lol 1

nonnaB 4,893
Today I sat outside as the weather was a bit cooler and after some time I felt something tickling my knee. I kept touching and scratching but it kept on irritating. So indoors I went and examined my leg and trousers, nothing was there so back outside and it started again this time on my shin. Rolling the trouser leg up I saw something sticking out of the seam . It was a baby lizard. We have loads of them at the moment and they get in everywhere….but not up trouser legs. 5
LizzieM 9,497
Just read that Phil spent 7 hours driving today, I assume that’s there and back from wherever he went. On Friday I had a horrible hot day in my car on the M1. I set off to go from Nottingham to a Garden Party at Milton Bryan near Woburn. An event we attend every year but this year I was going alone. I left home at 9.30 for a 90 mile journey to friends house for 11.30 to then go with them to the ‘do’ at 12.15. As soon as I got on the M1 at J25 the overhead signs were telling me that J14 to J13 were closed. I thought Ok I’ll get off at 14. Then a sign telling me 7 mile queues from j15 to 14. So thought I’d get off at 15. Then there was no mention of any issues so I continued on the motorway. A few miles further down queue was horrendous, I just ended up being stuck, surrounded by HGV trucks and sitting in that traffic. I eventually got off at J14, made my way through MK and went straight to the party, arriving 2.5 hours late after 5 hours sitting in my (thankfully air conditioned) car. I had a bottle of water but was worried about drinking too much! It was worth the effort though, I had a really great time, the ‘garden party’ went on until 11pm and I didn’t have to drive until Saturday afternoon! The M1 North from J13 all the way up to Nottingham was a breeze on Saturday afternoon and surprisingly hardly any traffic. Not done a lot today! 1

Can anyone tell me why there are so many accidents on the M1 is seems like there is a problem almost every day or is it just breakdowns?
Ayupmeducks 1,730
From what I've seen on Youtube, and my visit over there 20 plus years back, it's one long parking lot.
