Deborah and I went to a new sushi restaurant. What a celebration , no husband , son or grandchildren. But we enjoyed it.

Never mind I’ll have a proper celebration when Alex comes out of hospital.

Thankyou Lizzie. Been to see Alex this afternoon in Turin and he’s got a very high temperature, hope it doesn’t last too long. These last few days , I was hoping to relax but I feel my feet havent touched the ground yet.

Jill Happy Birthday I know it’s late but life’s a bit hectic at the moment and I see things but they don’t register. Anyway hope you had a good day.

Belated birthday wishes Nonna, sorry I missed it yesterday, I was dreaming of all of that gorgeous food that you prepare

……….

At the moment it’s ginger bread houses and ginger bread men. Good job I have prepared meals in the freezer . They’ve come in useful.

It’s now official our village has been awarded “ one of the most beautiful villages in Italy” The award was given on Sunday complete with marching band and the famous Bandiere ( flag flyers). There’s a short video but it’s all in Italian and only showing a few things of interest. One thing I want to see is all the presepe in the top part of the village. ( presepe are the Nativity scenes) and there are some very interesting interpretations.

I’m not at all surprised, having visited you a few years ago, albeit during a cold snowy February, it’s a wonderful place to live, well done to Castagnole delle Lanze.  We will return!
