The council had until yesterday to refuse permission to fell as we’re in a tree preservation area, but thankfully we heard nothing and the lads were here first thing this morning. Since things have been moving a bit quickly and my right knee is not yet strong enough to take the lead, I discussed maybe having to delay for a few weeks. Then, when I saw the Doc, she told me that the ECG taken a little earlier was very different to the one taken before first op. Lots of 'ectopic' beats or somesuch. So... a delay while I wait for them to organise a 24 hour 'tape' with the subsequent wait for the Cardiologists report. ..... So that's the delay organised. ... Good news is the weather will be good until Christmas with fairly high temperatures which is nice but not normal. The bad news is that we have to put up with mosquitoes until then. I have fly screens but they still get through and I can guarantee I’m bitten at least a couple of times a day.I can’t have the front door open at all so it’s a nuisance having to keep the dogs inside then outside instead of them going out to sunbathe! Every now and again we have a chilly day but doesn’t really need CH but just a quick blast firing up the wood burning fire to take the dampness away. MRS B 280 Posted October 21, 2022 Report Share Posted October 21, 2022 How’s your day? Not the best! We were sitting at some traffic lights in Leicester just after midday which were on red. The HGV1 in front of us decided he was going to reverse into us and totally crunched the front of our car. He admitted afterwards that he thought there was nothing behind him and as he was in the wrong lane decided to reverse and get in the right one! We’re ok but car is currently at the repairers. Good job he actually did stop as bizarrely neither of us even thought of getting out of the car, think we were so gobsmacked we were motionless. Halloween isn’t very popular here but we used to have all the nephews and nieces trick n treating. They loved it so we made bony fingers and spiders and other Halloween sweets for them.
