FLY2 10,108
It seems we missed the passing of two famous people the other week which seems surprising. Both were from differing extremes of the human race. You make your own minds up which ones. The first was David Shepherd, the world famous artist, wildlife preservationist and fund raiser. An absolute icon in the railway preservation circle. The money he made from his iconic paintings of steam engines, their environs, and wildlife, particularly elephants and tigers etc all went into financing the engines he saved from the scrapyard, and protecting much threatened wildlife , especially in Africa. Other than that, he was a kind man, always willing to listen and help people in whatever capacity he could. He will be very sadly missed. The other was Hugh Hefner ! Merthyr Imp 729
Also recently deceased was the actor Roy Dotrice who used to be on television a lot years ago. Also known as the father of Michele Dotrice ('Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em') and Karen Dotrice ('Mary Poppins').
katyjay 5,090
I'd have thought someone would have jumped in after Fly's post. David Shepherd liked his wildlife and Hugh Hefner liked his wildlife also, aka bunnies. 2
