DaveN 1,118
The above programme is on channel 4 tonight (Monday 20th November) at 8pm. It sounds interesting especially for those of us are of a certain age.

Compo 10,326
I could record it for you on my Betamax recorder and post it on, Loppylugs....
loppylugs 8,424
Sounds like a lot of work, Compo, but I appreciate the thought. Didn't know any even had a Beatmax anymore. They bit the dust before vhs if I remember rightly. Should probably see if anybody thinks it's worth watching first.

Was that remark said in fun, Compo, or do you really have a Betamax recorder still working and in use? I have two stored in the roof (need attention) and loads of tapes full of old films, Hancock's Half Hours, etc. Actually Betamax was a superior format to VHS. The film and television companies all used that format. The problem was that the rental companies went for the VHs format and it became the most popular as a result. There was a time when most people rented instead of bought.
loppylugs 8,424
You know, I wondered about that, Chulla, but I didn't like to ask. I thought poor old Compo might still be stuck in the days of Betamax and I didn't want to spoil his day.
Compo 10,326
Day remains unspoilt Loppylugs I do indeed have a betamax recorder in working order, Chulla misduck, but it is not currently conected up to a screen. This is it:
