Gem, the production, possession and use of cannabis oil in the UK is illegal.

However CBD oil cannabidiol is now accepted to have medicinal qualities by the establishment, therefore the government has changed the rules on that this year.

Google CBD oil there is loads of information

I’ve never really thought much about homeopathy and complementary medicines, although I’ve taken Arnica because I was told it helps with bruising. Not sure if it worked though, the bruising I’d got didn’t miraculously disappear quickly.  I had a neighbour who was an ‘alternative medicines practitioner’ as well as being a Sister in an NHS hospital, she did pretty well out of her little sideline.

Anyway I’ve just been googling to find out more about such products and come across several articles by a doctor who specialised in complementary and alternative meds.  A chap called EDZARD ERNST.  Several interesting articles for your bedtime reading.  He’s not so keen on all that stuff nowadays.

I'm into natural alternative medicine, I take vitamin D to prevent colds and flu, haven't had full blown flu in years, I had minor symptoms a few weeks back, but gone within days, haven;t had a cold in years.

I take other herbs and minerals to keep the immune system at it's peak.

I used to suffer with hay fever really bad, wheezing, coughing, snotty, puffy eyes, the lot.

Tried a few different tablets ,most made no difference or left me feeling very sleepy.

Then I discovered a remedy called Combination H...very tiny little tablets..and like magic they worked...I now only get very mild hay fever or some years not at all.

Interesting subject. Like some I use lavender, ginger and tea tree a lot. Summer time is worst for me as we are in an area with lots of mosquitoes. When they bite I apply a drop of lavender and spread aloe vera gel over. The swelling comes up but no pain or burning but after a few minutes I cant see where I was bitten. One year I had 17 bites on one leg but they left no purple marks as they usually do if unattended. Ginger aromatherapy oil I use with a carrier oil and massage where it hurts, its very warming and certainly eases the pain. In fact I need it now but havent any left.  Teatree and lavender I put into a diffuser and breathing it in clears your head and smells wonderful. I have a tiny pot of Lavender temple balm from Holland and Barrett that is fantastic for headaches.

All types of rose essential oil is also dangerous in pregnancy. I too did an aromatherapy course along with reflexology I found it very interesting and informative.

Another thing I use , drinking it 3 times a day before meals is Aloe Arborascens. I buy the leaves and make it up myself. Its very bitter but after it gives you a feeling of well being and cleansed.

I wouldnt be without these few things . Im not a fanatic about aromatherapy or homeopathy but years ago I used to have terrible pains in my stomach. Looking in Boots I saw some homeopathy products and looked it up. The recommendation was vox something or other and it worked for me but haven' t used it since so dont know if it was mind over matter. But aromatherapy does work.

Many years ago there was a Herbalist on Handel street ,just off Carlton road.My grandma used to go there for all sorts of remedies,I also used to sometimes call in on my way home from work.It was called Henchers I think.

The man in this shop would often mix his own remedies for you.I used to buy his shampoo,I have never had any as good. The so called herbalist shops now are nowhere as good as this was.Does anyone remember the shop.?

Mozzies are a pain in summer here, no matter what one does, make sure there is no standing water for them to breed in, they are still a pain. Use a spoon that's been heated to as hot as you can stand and hold it against the bite. Itching stops right away, and the small swelling disappears.. Works every time!!.

We have a lot of Poison Ivy and Poison Oak around here, I like most people am allergic to it, standard neat bleach, chlorine variety, dabbed on the rash stops the itching and prevents the blistering within minutes.
