Yes, I always think it's an important turning point in the year. I appreciate that January and February can be bad, but it's just a mental thing that spurs me on positively towards spring.

Ive still got three bags of various daffodils to set, but have already got azalea, hebe's and jasmine in bloom. Along with acers, and various other shrubs with many buds on. As for my rhododendrons, we I can envisage them being out for the New Year.

The weather in Jan & Feb can be quite mild, a few years ago me & Mrs C had a wander along Trent Embankment one Feb afternoon, some people were wearing shorts & T-shirts. lovely weather.
