philmayfield 6,115
This chap used to crop up from time to time on Radio Nottingham ‘phone ins years ago. Occasionally he wrote to the newspapers with fairly meaningless comments. I thought he was long gone - but no - here he is again in the Newark Advertiser today with a letter about the homeless. Is he a real person?
catfan 14,793
He featured in the NEPs letters column almost every day !
philmayfield 6,115
He must be well over 100 now then!
FLY2 10,108
I'm certain I saw him interviewed on local news programmes many years ago, and thought he looked younger than I imagined.
philmayfield 6,115
I’ve just done a bit of research on line and he’ll be about 84, so likely to be with us for a while yet!
jonab 1,644
He used to get a lot of air-time on Radio 4 correspondence programmes. His contributions always seemed rather vacuous. I well remember either John Humphries or Robert Robinson, not taking the proverbial but obviously thinking along the lines of "we've got a right one here."
