Bulwell Adelphi. I spoke to the manager there many years ago when they were one of our audit clients of the Levin Cinema Group. He said when they had a pop group concert there the place was filled with young girls and there wasn’t a dry seat in the house!

It looks like there was a fire or another incident at Victoria Hotel as the ladder on the left appears to be a 100ft turntable ladder and on the right a 50ft escape ladder,

The conductor looks like he has a pole used to reconnect a trolley bus to the overhead wire and there is some gubbins on the roof, but it has an engine?

As far as I know trolley busses never went Nottingham to Ripley so what was he doing?

Notts & Derby trolleybuses did go from Nottingham to Ripley - they replaced trams.

Some trolleybuses did look like this, rather than the full, flat front style. I suggest the trolleybus has been diverted off Mansfield Road by the emergency seen in the background and may be about to run on batteries to get around the obstruction?

Brownhills moved into the caravan and motor home business. They used to be on a site next to Newark Marina and then they moved onto the old army depot site at the A1/A46 roundabout junction. The sold out some years ago but still trade under the Brownhills name.

In your photo of the Adelphi caftan, it looks like there's a crane in the background that might be removing the central part of the old CGR viaduct?
