Michael Booth 7,364
I was going through some paperwork in the loft today and came across this school reports book. It is from The Highbury School for Boys and the reports are from 1940 to 1943. The pupil is Bernard Burton and his date of admission, aged 11, was 26-08-40. I have no idea where it came from or how it came to be in my possession. The book itself is in perfect condition and is a small piece of Nottingham history.

(Blanked it out in case it's a previous inhabitant of a current address). Father , Joshua J. Burton and mother Ethel Burton ( nee Greensmith). Any help ?

DAVIDW 1,683
Yes Ann . I guess Bernard Burton's name is the one blanked out (for privacy reasons) on the 1939 Register .

Michael Booth 7,364
Hello, annswabey and DAVIDW. I'm sorry for the delay in replying. I've attached a copy of one of the pages in the report and it shows that his mother was Mrs E Burton. Because of this I'd assume your findings were correct.
