Many of these have been restored and painted..many of them around Castle Street and Standard Hill...going up to Canning Circus...at the top of The Ropewalk.

Justice of the Peace erected these to denote parishes...for the purpose of rates.da32a6764d81e469a97d51a1a8f66cc7.jpgBoundary post at the end of The Ropewalk.

The 44 was a protected route & Trent couldn't drop off before the city boundary but the 141 was not a protected route served by NCT.

OSM-Nottingham shows the locations of the boundary posts of which we (local OpenStreetMappers) are aware: http://osm-nottingham.org.uk/?z=12&lon=-1.20918&lat=52.96580&bgl=OSM,1,15&l=markersposts. This should, in practice, be most of them because they are now generally listed by Historic England (which may be noted if you click on the dots on the map).

Many thanks, we'll have to go and check those out, although for various reasons there are more of us on the S & W of the city than Carlton way.
