I used to like the TR6P police bike a Triumph Thunderbird with a standard inlet cam and a E3134 exhaust cam they used to accelerate like hell and pulled like a train ,that cam set up was really good for the slower circuits. .

I lived on Peachey St.SWE..so in about 1970 the traffic division took over moons and their bikes were up and down past my door all day.

They even parked the old BSA? and sidecar that was for the Fire Brigade on our street sometimes.

Was it a Fog Escort set up ?

Think you are right Colin...spoke to him about old fireponds once or twice...told me under Canning Circus is / was a gigantic water tank..they even used it when Dakins was on fire in the late 1960's.

Some motors here..late 1940's .

A lot of those ex Army Tilley vans ..an old Hillman -far left...thought at first the car on the right was a Riley..but looking at the rear end ..a Citroen!

Huntingdon street. Fine parade of coachwork. The leading one, a Burlingham Seagull?, (Leyland or AEC, I'm looking at this on a small phone screen) don't know the other 3 but they look quite posh.

Nice A95 Westminster heading down Kent St. To the right is the other side of Cripps- the bricked rear side...well viewed from Platform one.The Newmarket is still there..Fon a Car moved here after working from a cramped establishment on the corner of Peel St.

Long Eaton was great..straighten it out with a sledge..radiator in the rear.

Humbers, P35's, and Jags lasted on the figure of 8.

Ian, I think it might be a HB Viva. The Australian versions HB, LC and LJ series Torana's had engines from 1.2 litres up to 3.3 litres. The race versions had V8 engines of 308 cubic inches producing 300bhp or 224kw

Image result for hb viva

Near but not quite Oztalgian, it's an HC. After a few Triumph bangers, I got one, my first newish car. I haven't got enough time to list all the problems I had with it. Utter crap, no wonder they've got their heads under the bonnet!
