Who or Where do I need to contact to find out the names of the mines by father, grandfather and cousins worked in up until 1967 - after that my family emigrated to Australia

Many thanks Karen

The easiest way is to contact the union offices. They should have records tucked away in the archives. Have you any idea as to what their jobs were as this could help in your search ?

Wecome  Nottskaren I must admit this post set me thinking as my grandad was a miner at Clifton Pit, I never did get to know him as he past away the year I was born.

One place to try British Coal Mining History , Coal mining records, data, deeds and documents. There is also an office in Mansfield called Mining Heritage Centre, phone num 01623 637225.

Also Coal miner records (occupations) but I think you have to pay on this site,

if you can. please put message/post on Nottstalgia so we may all share. Thanks.

Unusual name... why have you named yourself after a ground beetle?  No offence, I just wondered...
