The 508th at Tent City.

Recommended Posts

An old mate of mine David Pike who I have not seen for many years was a keen historian concerning the 508th Parachute Regiment !

He did a lot of research & was helped enormously by the then CO of the 508th including an invite to the US, whilst there he undertook basic training & did a parachute jump with the US soldiers & later was invited to inspect the troops, he considered  writing the book & spending time with the soldiers of the present day 508 th Parachute Regiment a honour & a privilege.

Dave Pike told me when he inspected the troops he did the Donald Sutherland impression from the film The Dirty Dozen by asking several soldiers"Where You From Son" ?

Dave had a sense of humour !
