Last gasp - Players factory demolished

It's the Players factory (now ex-factory) near Clifton Bridge, and built in the early 70s. By that time they'd left all connection with Radford a long way behind.

I'm not sure I have understood you correctly but the Radford factory was operating in tandem with Horizon while I was there early 70's.

On my visit to the area this week, I had a wander past the old Player's sites.   Paid a visit to St Peter's church.     I can remember when this was full of higgledy pig

Some things have survived. The Pheasant on Prospect Street!

Should make it law to have this painted on all UK pubs

That is a very interesting photograph of the F1 car in the car park of the Horizon factory.

The car is a Lotus 87, raced by de Angelis and Mansell in the 1981 season.

I reckon the photo is from the middle of 1981, because Essex and JPS only paired up as Lotus sponsors for the latter part of the 1981 season (this also marries with the fourth new Lotus road car in the car park appearing to be a 1981 model year dry sump Lotus Esprit Turbo).
