I agree Michael, something interesting and nobody bats an eyelid. They must be only here for the waffle!

Apparently the Normans renamed Sneinton as Notintone but for some reason the name didn't stick . The name was revived in the naming of Notintone Place where General Booth was born .

Actually this piece from 1879 says we may have links (and distant relatives !) in Kent ,Hampshire and Worcestershire . Seems Snod or Snot worked his way up the country !

Have always thought that Snodland in Kent was an unusual name .
