During my short tenure with Central Division in the mid 60's, I worked with Tug and I remember Geoff too in the City Centre. I was considered tall at 6'2" which was why I was assigned to Central Division. Those days, there was always something going on in the City centre. It was thriving. I went back 40 years later having served in the Army, Royal Military Police for 15 years and found the place to be DEAD! How times change! I also worked out of Canning Circus and then progressed to the Ford Escort Panda cars. Policing in those days was FUN, not political the way it is now!

Hi Jill I read your post re John Hardy the PC from Hucknall he was a good friend of mine, sadly now passed away, a great bloke to know. Known to us John Dispatch after the local paper, where his photo often appeared, even after he retired he helped local kids with their reading etc, he enjoyed his life and also a pint or two. I am not sure if John was a Buff but he did belong to another group and also many clubs and groups in Hucknall
